Use of DCB ceramic PCB
A DCB ceramic PCB is a type of circuit board technology used in high-power and high-temperature applications. DCB ceramic PCB is used when a high copper thickness is required (140–350 mm). The copper is bonded to the ceramic substrate on one or both sides using a high-temperature oxidation process. It is designed to provide efficient thermal management and electrical isolation for electronic devices. DBC is often a two-layer process, where the back of the substrate is a solid and unfeatured sheet of copper and where the top copper layer is structured using chemical etching and is performed to develop the electrical circuit traces. DCB ceramic PCBs consist of a ceramic substrate that is metalized with a layer of copper, which is directly bonded to the ceramic substrate using various methods such as high-temperature brazing or direct copper laser sintering. This direct bonding ensures excellent thermal conductivity between the copper traces and the ceramic substrate, allowing for effe
